Kajol & Rani Mukerji's Uncle Rono Mukherjee Passes Away; Tanishaa Mukerji, Ayan Mukerji Attend Funeral

2025 is surely not a good year for the Mukherjee family. Ayan Mukerji's father, Deb Mukherjee, died in March this year, and on Wednesday, Rono Mukherjee passed away. Rono was the brother of Joy Mukherjee, Deb Mukherjee (Ayan's father), Shomu Mukherjee (Kajol's father), and Shubir Mukherjee. He had directed movies like Tu Hi Meri Zindagi (1965) and Haiwan (1977).

The funeral took place on Wednesday afternoon at Santacruz Hindu Crematorium. Apart from family, many close friends attended the last rites.

Rono Mukherjee is the father of Sharbani Mukherjee and Samrat Mukherjee. Sharbani starred in films like Border, Mitti, Aanch, and others. She had also worked in Tamil and Malayalam movies. Meanwhile, Samrat also featured in multiple movies and is also a prominent face in the Bengali television industry.

While Ayan, Sunita, and Tanishaa were clicked at the funeral, it looks like Rani Mukerji and Kajol were unable to attend it. Maybe the actresses are busy with their professional commitments. Kajol is gearing up for the trailer launch of her movie Maa which is going to take place on Thursday. However, we wonder if the event will be cancelled due to the demise in the family.

In March this year, Ayan's father, Deb Mukherjee, had passed away, and many Bollywood celebs had attended the funeral. Deb was an actor and had worked in movies like Aansoo Ban Gaye Phool, Adhikar, Ek Bar Mooskura Do, Main Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander, Kaminey, and others.
