'I Never Give My Actors Chance To Complain': Anurag Basu Supports Deepika Padukone's 8-Hour Shift Demand
Director Anurag Basu, whose film Metro... In Dino is receiving widespread praise, has supported Deepika Padukone's alleged 8-hour shift demand after her daughter Dua’s birth. Speaking to Firstpost, he said, “I absolutely agree with what Deepika Padukone had to say. I also don’t like long-hour shifts. My actors never complain because I never let it come to that.”

Director Anurag Basu, whose recently released film Metro... In Dino, a spiritual sequel to Life In A... Metro, which hit the theatres a few days ago and has been receiving widespread praise. Now, the director now come out in support of Deepika Padukone over her alleged demand for an 8-hour work shift. The demand, which surfaced after the birth of her daughter Dua, has sparked a heated discussion in the industry about working conditions for actresses post-motherhood. It was reportedly denied by director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, leading to Deepika’s exit from the film.

Speaking to Firstpost, Anurag said that he agrees with Deepika. He added, "I also don’t like long hours shift at work. My actors never complain about long hours or stress at work. So, I absolutely agree to what Deepika Padukone had to say. It’s a film, I never give my actors a chance to complain on this."
