'Hum Honge Kangaal': Kunal Kamra Takes Dig At Violent Clash In Maharashtra Assembly, Shares Videos Of CM Fadnavis & Eknath Shinde

Comedian Kunal Kamra seems to be in no mood to back off, as he took a dig at the Maharashtra government once again after a violent brawl erupted in the state assembly between supporters of BJP and NCP leaders. He brought back his infamous 'Hum Honge Kangaal' satirical song, which had stirred a massive controversy back in March.

On Thursday, supporters of BJP MLA Gopichand Padalkar and NCP (Sharad Pawar group) MLA Jitendra Awhad were seen engaging in a violent clash inside the Maharashtra Assembly and pulling and punching each other over a comment made by the latter. Videos of the ruckus went viral on the internet, and Kamra did not miss the opportunity to drive his point home.

Sharing a video montage of the brawl, and also clips of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy CM Eknath Shinde, Kamra captioned it "Lawbreakers". He also added his own satirical version of 'Hum Honge Kangaal' in the background, leaving his fans in splits.

Kunal Kamra - Shiv Sena controversy

For those unversed, back in March, Kamra had performed a stand-up set in Mumbai, titled Naya Bharat, during which he took several digs at the Maharashtra government and called out the lawlessness in the state.

But it did not go well with the supporters of the alliance government, especially Shiv Sena, as they accused Kamra of insulting Eknath Shinde and calling him a "traitor".

'I will not apologise': Kunal Kamra

Multiple complaints and FIRs were filed against him, and Shiv Sena workers openly threatened him, asking him to apologise, but the comedian blatantly refused.

"Your inability to take a joke at the expense of a powerful public figure does not change the nature of my right. As far as I know, it is not against the law to poke fun at our leaders and the circus that is our political system," he had said in his statement.

"I do not fear this mob & I will not be hiding under my bed, waiting for this to die down," he had stated.
