Girls Will Be Girls is an Indo-French coming-of-age drama film featuring Preeti Panigrahi as Mira in the lead role. The film had its world premiere at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, and Toronto International Film Festival. It will drop directly on OTT in Decmeber 2024.

Plot

The film centres on Mira, an ambitious 18-year-old student who becomes the first female head at her strict boarding school in the Himalayas. It delves into the complex relationship between Mira and her mother, Anila, whose own coming-of-age experiences were left unfulfilled. The movie also aims to show female desires through the perspective of societal judgment.

The cast includes Preeti Panigrahi as Mira, Kani Kusruti as Anila, and Kesav Binoy Kiron. Shuchi Talati has directed and written the film.
