Sunil Pal Feels ‘Insulted’ After Being Stopped On Stage |

Comedian Sunil Pal recently faced an embarrassing moment at an event in Mumbai when he was stopped from addressing the audience despite being invited on stage. A video of the incident has gone viral, showing the organiser taking the microphone away after Pal accepted a bouquet and asked him to return to his seat, sparking reactions on social media.

'I Felt Insulted': Sunil Pal

Addressing the situation, Sunil revealed that he felt 'insulted', adding that since it was a shayari programme with renowned poets present at the Urdu-Arab event, and as one of his close friends had invited him, he decided to attend and was enjoying the evening. "Everyone there was watching and recording the video of me on stage because they thought I was being honoured but look what happened. I felt insulted," added Pal.

Sunil stated that being called on stage felt like a genuine gesture of respect, as he was invited and presented with a bouquet. Since it was a well-organised event with talented shayars, he only wanted to say a few words to thank and appreciate the poets present, adding that he simply wished to pay his respects as they deserved it.

'Why Wasn't I Allowed To Say A Simple Thank You?'

Pal later reached out to the friend who had invited him. "Later, I even asked my friend, who had invited me, what was the issue but he asked me to forget and move on. Even he didn’t know why I wasn’t allowed to say a simple thank you on stage," added the comedian.

Sunil Pal rose to fame after winning the popular stand-up comedy reality show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge in 2005. Known for his comic timing and mimicry, he became a familiar face on television and live comedy circuits. Over the years, however, his visibility in mainstream comedy shows has reduced as opportunities declined.

These days, he is quite active on social media and often shares videos of his views and opinions on various topics.
