'Dushman Bann Gaye The': Neil Nitin Mukesh Reveals Katrina Kaif Had Problem With His Skin Tone, Acting Process During New York Shoot

Actors Neil Nitin Mukesh and Katrina Kaif shared the screen in the 2009 film, New York, and while their on-screen performances were much appreciated, off-screen, the two began on a wrong note. Neil revealed that they fought a lot during the initial days of shoot, and that Katrina had a problem with his complexion and acting process.

During his recent chat with On Public Demand, Neil revealed, "The first day we met, we didn't become friends, dushman bann gaye the. It was our first scene together and we were just fighting."

He went on to say, "She kept cutting me off, and I kept asking what was the problem. Then I got to know mere rang se kuch unko problem thi. Then she had a problem with how I was performing my character. She kept doing this and I kept getting angry as I was coming to the sets after working in an intense film like Johnny Gaddaar."

"I have studied acting and I know my language. I was working hard and was doing my best. She is a bigger star, and back then too, she was bigger than me, so I kept wondering what was I doing wrong?", Neil added.

Neil then shared that he confronted Katrina one day after she scolded him post a shot. It was then that she said that she was not angry but nervous as she had only been a part of comedy films before New York.

Post the revelation, Neil and Katrina sorted their differences out, and from there on, it was a smooth sailing for the two of the them on the sets.

New York was directed by Kabir Khan and the film was based in the backdrop of the 9/11 attack in the USA. The film also starred John Abraham and Irrfan Khan, among others in key roles.
