Drishyam 3 Box Office Collection Day 2: Mohanlal-Starrer Crosses ₹75 Crore Worldwide Despite Dip In India Collections

Mohanlal-starrer Drishyam 3, which released in theatres on May 21 on the occasion of the superstar’s birthday, is the sequel to Drishyam 2 and the third installment in the popular Drishyam franchise. Despite receiving mixed reactions from critics and audiences, the thriller opened to impressive numbers at the box office; however, it saw a slight decline in collections compared to its strong opening-day performance.

According to Sacnilk, Drishyam 3 collected Rs 11.05 crore net across 4,886 shows on Day 2 in India from its Malayalam version. In other languages, the film earned around Rs 10 lakh in Kannada, Rs 40 lakh in Tamil, and Rs 70 lakh in Telugu. With this, the total India net collection of Drishyam 3 now stands at Rs 26.90 crore, while the India gross collection has reached Rs 31.18 crore within just two days of release.

Drishyam 3 has also been performing exceptionally well in overseas markets. On Day 2 alone, Mohanlal’s thriller earned Rs 20 crore overseas, taking its total international gross collection to Rs 45 crore so far. Backed by strong global response and massive fan anticipation, the film’s worldwide gross collection has now soared to Rs 76.18 crore in just two days.

Directed by Jeethu Joseph, the film sees Mohanlal reprise his iconic role as Georgekutty, alongside Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, and Asha Sharath returning to their respective characters

Drishyam 3 Budget

While the makers have not yet officially announced the budget of Drishyam 3, reports suggest that the film has been made on a budget of ₹100 crore. After a fantastic opening, the movie now needs to maintain a strong box office performance in the coming days.

The Free Press Journal reviewer gave 3.5 stars to Drishyam 3 and wrote, "Drishyam 3 may not surpass the ingenious precision of its predecessor, but it understands the tragic burden of living inside one’s own alibi. The film succeeds because it recognises that secrets do not disappear with time. They simply become family traditions."
