Deva: Censor Board Trims Shahid Kapoor, Pooja Hegde's Kissing Scene By 6 Seconds; 'Foul Gestures' Modified

With the release date around the corner, Deva has now received a U/A certificate from the Censor Board, but it has also asked the makers to trim down a kissing scene along with other changes.

As per reports, Deva, which is set to release on January 31, has been passed by the Censor Board with a U/A certificate, which means that it is suitable to be viewed by all age groups.
The Censor Board reportedly suggested a few cuts and changes in the film. As per reports, director Rosshan Andrrews was asked to trim a steamy kissing scene between the leads, Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde, by six seconds.
The board also asked the makers to modify "foul gestures" and profane words in the film with milder alternatives. Along with that, the CBFC asked the makers to clarify the reference of Hutatma Chowk, a landmark in Mumbai's Fort area, in the film.
With all the cuts and modifications, Deva's final runtime now stands at 2 hours, 36 minutes, 59 seconds.
The trailer of Deva released a few days ago and it by the looks of it, the film promises to show Shahid in a never-seen-before cop avatar. The actor plays an angry, young cop in the film, and can be seen packing some intense punches and delivering impressive gun-toting scenes.
Besides Shahid, Deva also stars Pooja Hegde, Kubra Sait and Pavail Gulati in key roles. Directed by acclaimed Malayalam filmmaker Rosshan Andrrews and produced by Zee Studios and Roy Kapur Films, Deva is all set to hit the big screens on January 31, 2025.
