Actress and global icon Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is celebrating her 49th birthday on November 1. The actress enjoyed huge popularity even before foraying into films. After ruling the beauty pageant world and winning the title of Miss World in 1994, she made her Bollywood debut in 1997.

Before making her acting debut, Aishwarya was reportedly dating popular model Rajeev Mulchandani. During her modelling days, she had also done a few photoshoots with Rajeev. In 1994, there were a lot of speculations about Rajeev dumping Aishwarya for actress Manisha Koirala. Because of this, Aishwarya and Manisha reportedly had an ugly showdown.

The most talked about story of Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai began on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. They dated from 1999 to 2001. Aishwarya also came close to the Khan family and became a part of their family events. However, Salman was accused by the diva of harassing and abusing her.

The actress had told ETimes in an interview, "After we broke up, he (Salman) would call me and talk rubbish. He also suspected me of having affairs with my co-stars. I was linked up with everyone, from Abhishek Bachchan to Shah Rukh Khan. There were times when Salman got physical with me, luckily without leaving any marks. And I would go to work as if nothing had happened."

Relationship with Vivek Oberoi

Aishwarya began dating Vivek Oberoi after her breakup with Salman, which turned into an actual love triangle. It was reported that Vivek had challenged Salman to stop interacting with Aishwarya. At a press conference, he disclosed that Salman allegedly threatened to murder him as the Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor called him '41 times'. However, Vivek’s outburst earned him the label 'immature' from Aishwarya.

Love story with Abhishek

Abhishek and Aishwarya met for the first time in 1999 for a photoshoot of their first film together Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke. However, they developed feelings for each other only in 2005 -2006, when they shot for Umrao Jaan. In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, Abhishek had revealed, "I was filming in New York for a movie, and I used to stand on my balcony of my hotel room and wish that one day wouldn't it be nice if I was together with [Aishwarya], married? So I took her to the very same balcony, and I asked her to marry me."

The actress instantly said yes, and they tied the knot on April 20, 2007.
