Manoj Santoshi, known for writing popular TV shows like Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai!, died on March 23 in Hyderabad after battling liver cancer. Some reports claim he passed away in Aligarh. His mortal remains are being taken to Bulandshahr for the last rites. He was also a writer for shows like Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, Jijaji Chhat Par Hai and May I Come in Madam?

Screenwriter Manoj Santoshi, who has penned many popular television shows, including the screenplay and dialogue of Shilpa Shinder's hit show Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai! passed away on Sunday, March 23 in Hyderabad after a long battle with liver cancer. However, several reports claim that he passed away in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh.
Manoj's mortal remains are being brought to Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh for the last rites. He was also a writer for shows like Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, Jijaji Chhat Par Hai (2018) and May I Come in Madam? (2016).

A few days ago, actress Kavita Kaushik, who worked with him in the show FIR, expressed gratitude on February 17 towards Shilpa Shinde for standing by Santoshi's side during this difficult time.
Sharing an old video of Santoshi singing at a house gathering while friends, including her, cheered him on. She wrote, "You may know him as the writer of Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai, Happu Paltan, Jeeja Ji Chhat Par, Madam May I Come In, and even the last few episodes of F.I.R.. He also contributed to Office Office and many other comedies. Today, I request you all to pray for Manoj Santoshi, as he is in the hospital with a crumbling liver."
"Angels like @binaiferkohli and her entire team is fighting to save him, pls pray for this wonderful human, big shout out to the amazing @shilpa_shinde_official for taking care of him," added Kavita.
Several reports claimed that Manoj had a special connection with Aligarh. He also visited the city multiple times and maintained close ties with local artists. He even provided acting opportunities to Aligarh-based talents like Sumit Saraf and Sanjay Maheshwari in the show Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain.
Manoj was also fond of Aligarh’s food, especially the kachoris, and would often enjoy them whenever he visited the city.
