YouTuber and Bangladeshi Miss Asia Global winner Shanta Pal has been arrested from Bikramgarh, Kolkata, with fake Indian documents. Pal is also an actress and a content creator. Reportedly, she used to run a food vlog after quitting a crew member's job at a Bangladeshi airline.

According to a report in TOI, cops said that she was arrested from her rented house on charges of possessing multiple fake Indian identity documents on July 30.

"We want to know how she got the Aadhaar and voter cards. Her social media posts are being studied for leads," said an officer.

The 28-year-old woman is from Bangladesh's Barishal. Reportedly, she tried to obtain Indian IDs through illegal channels. Her parents also stayed with her. Police have reached out to several government agencies in India, including the Aadhaar authorities and the Election Commission, to verify the authenticity of the Indian documents recovered from her.

Report further mentioned that She was arrested after authorities discovered multiple Bangladeshi passports issued in her name, an ID card from a Bangladeshi airline, a secondary education admit card from Dhaka, and forged Indian documents at her residence.

After arriving from Dhaka several months ago, Pal initially rented a place in the Park Street before shifting to a third-floor flat in Bikramgarh, Jadavpur, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Golf Green Police Station.

Reportedly, her Aadhaar card was issued in 2020 using an address in Burdwan. Also, the ID cards recovered by the police suggested that Pal was impersonating a local resident to operate a car rental business.

The accused had earlier won the 'Miss Asia Global Bangladesh' beauty pageant in her home country. Pal's husband is a resident of Andhra Pradesh, and an investigation is underway to determine how the two came in contact before marriage.
