Allu Arjun Arrested: Pushpa 2 Actor Sent To 14-Day Judicial Custody In Hyderabad Theatre Stampede Case
Actor Allu Arjun, who was arrested from his Hyderabad residence on Friday in the Sandhya theatre stampede case, has been sent to 14 days in judicial custody. The actor has now moved Telangana High Court for urgent relief. Allu Arjun was booked after a woman died in a stampede during the special premiere of Pushpa 2 at the theatre.

Tollywood superstar Allu Arjun, who was arrested from his Hyderabad residence on Friday in the Sandhya theatre stampede case, has been sent to 14 days in judicial custody. Post his arrest, the actor was produced in the Nampally court, which remanded him to 14 days in judicial custody.
Allu Arjun will be lodged in the Chanchalguda jail. Meanwhile, the actor and his legal team moved Telangana High Court for urgent relief in the matter.
During the hearing, the Telangana HC judge inquired about what was Allu Arjun's specific role in the stampede. Representatives of the Telangana government, on the other hand, stated that it had asked the actor to not visit the theatre for the special premiere.
For those unversed, a special premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule was held at the Sandhya theatre in Hyderabad on December 4 for fans of Allu Arjun. During the screening, the actor surprised his fans by paying a visit to the theatre, and all hell broke loose as people got to know of his presence.

Hundreds of fans gathered outside the theatre and it resulted into a massive stampede, during which a 35-year-old was trampled to death. Her son, a minor, was injured and is now critical at a local hospital.
Later, expressing his grief over the incident, Allu Arjun gave Rs 25 lakh to the bereaved family and also promised to cover the injured child's medical expenses. "Deeply heartbroken by the tragic incident at Sandhya Theatre. My heartfelt condolences go out to the grieving family during this unimaginably difficult time. I want to assure them they are not alone in this pain and will meet the family personally," he wrote on X.

Meanwhile, the deceased woman's husband, Bhaskar, came forth and told the media on Friday that Allu Arjun has nothing to do with the stampede. "I am ready to withdraw the case. I was not aware of the arrest and Allu Arjun has nothing to do with the stampede in which my wife passed away," he said.
