In a move to expand access and transparency in its recruitment process, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) now offers an email alert service for educational and professional institutions. The objective of the move is to provide wider dissemination of recruitment notifications to qualified candidates across India.
Targeted Alerts for Relevant Posts
Through this service, universities, professional associations, colleges, and other recognised institutions can get individualised email notifications regarding UPSC recruitment notices within their respective academic or professional interest areas. These notifications are mainly for Group A and Group B Gazetted positions within different government departments and ministries.
Addressing Application Gaps
UPSC received more than 240 recruitment proposals in medicine, law, teaching, engineering, finance, and other domains in 2025. Chairman Dr. Ajay Kumar pointed out disparities in applications and stated that some jobs are getting fewer suitable candidates, as a result, infructuous or unfilled vacancies are arising. The email alert mechanism is aimed at bridging these gaps and ensuring merit-based appointments.
Subscription Process for Institutions
Institutions interested in subscribing can send an email to ra-upsc@gov.in with the subject: "Subscription Request – UPSC Recruitment Alerts."
