Bihar Board Topper 2025: Roshni Kumari, a Vaishali district girl from Bihar, has brought pride to her state and family by securing the top position in the commerce stream in the Bihar Class 12 board examination with an impressive 475 marks (95%). She is the daughter of an auto-rickshaw driver.

Despite such hardships, Roshni kept her eyes fixed on her studies. For lack of money, she had to change her earlier school and move to a government school. Roshni credits her success to the persistent support of her mother, who constantly motivated her, and the inspiration of her teachers, who reassured her despite the family’s financial difficulties.

Roshni started her educational journey at Kashipur Chakbibi School for her primary schooling. She then proceeded to finish her matriculation at Chandpura High School and then went on to study intermediate at Jamunilal College in Hajipur. Although Roshni initially wanted to be a Chartered Accountant (CA), she shifted her plans to become a Company Secretary (CS) because of her financial condition. She is still committed to realising her dreams, with her teachers providing her with constant support.

"My father is an auto driver. Due to financial constraints, I left my previous school and got myself enrolled in a government school... My mother motivated me a lot. Earlier, I had decided to do CA after the 12th, but looking at our financial condition, I dropped that idea and thought of doing CS. My teachers told me not to worry about money and they will support me...," Roshni said, as reported by news agency ANI.

In the Science stream, Priya Jaiswal claimed the top spot, while Ankita Kumari and Shakib Sah were joint toppers in the Arts stream. Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, praised Roshni and all the other successful students, emphasising the remarkable contribution of female students to the top three streams. This year, nearly 12.92 lakh students sat for the exams, with nearly equal numbers of girls and boys.
