Mumbai: IIT Bombay Launches E-Postgraduate Diploma In E-Mobility To Equip Professionals For Electric Vehicle Sector
The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT-B) on Tuesday announced its new e-Postgraduate Diploma in E-mobility, an 18-month programme tailored to equip professionals with cutting-edge knowledge in the electric vehicle (EV) sector.

Mumbai: The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT-B) on Tuesday announced its new e-Postgraduate Diploma in E-mobility, an 18-month programme tailored to equip professionals with cutting-edge knowledge in the electric vehicle (EV) sector.
The course, set to commence in March 2025, is crafted for early and mid-career professionals, scientists, entrepreneurs, academicians, and recent graduates. It includes a comprehensive curriculum covering electric vehicle design, battery technology, power electronics, electrical drives, and more. Participants will gain hands-on experience through interactive sessions and projects such as EV charger modelling and battery degradation analysis.
According to the university, the programme has been developed in collaboration with edtech partner Great Learning, and it aims to address the growing demand for skilled experts in the rapidly evolving EV industry.
Speaking at the launch of the programme, IIT-B Director, Prof. Shireesh Kedare, said, “The e-Postgraduate Diploma in E-mobility by the C1973 EV PowerTrain Lab marks a key milestone in IIT Bombay's commitment to advanced education. Our industry collaborations help bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world application, accelerating our mission to advance experiential learning in innovation-driven fields.”
Mohan Lakhamraju, Founder and CEO of Great Learning, highlighted the significance of this initiative, stating, “The electric vehicle industry in India and globally is advancing at a remarkable pace, fuelled by government policies and growing environmental awareness. Graduates of the e-Postgraduate Diploma programme will participate in a ceremony at the IIT-B campus at the conclusion of the course, receiving alumni status. Eligibility criteria include a B.E., B.Tech, or equivalent degree, with postgraduate and doctoral degree holders also encouraged to apply.
