Mumbai: Court Issues Non-Bailable Warrant Against Kapol School Officials In Student Segregation Case
The court is currently hearing a case filed by parents and registered by Kandivali Police against three school officials — Principal Dr. Reshma Hegde, and Heads of Department Toral Shah and Susham Kumar. Mumbai: The Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Borivali has issued a non-bailable warrant against office bearers of Kapol Vidyanidhi International School (KVIS) after they repeatedly failed to appear before the court.
The court is currently hearing a case filed by parents and registered by Kandivali Police against three school officials — Principal Dr. Reshma Hegde, and Heads of Department Toral Shah and Susham Kumar. Despite being summoned, neither the accused nor their legal representatives appeared for the hearings, prompting the court to issue the warrant.

The case dates back to April 2022, when several parents alleged that, on the school management's instructions, some students were segregated and made to sit in a laboratory as punishment because their parents had questioned the fees charged during the COVID-19 lockdown period. While some parents approached the Bombay High Court, others filed a police complaint with the support of a local politician.
