Maharashtra DTE Admissions 2026: The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has issued guidelines regarding the admission process for seats remaining vacant at the institutional level after completion of the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) rounds for courses under the Department of Technical Education.
According to the public notice released on the website, colleges have been directed to conduct institutional-level admissions strictly in accordance with Rule 13 of the Information Brochure.
The notice states that institutional-level admissions can be conducted only after all CAP rounds are completed and must be based on the applicants' inter-se merit.
Colleges required to publish admission details
Colleges have been instructed to publish the rules, admission procedure and relevant prospectus for institutional-level admissions on their official websites. Candidates interested in vacant seats can apply directly to the concerned college. If direct applications are not possible, candidates may fill the institutional-level Option Form through their CAP portal login.
Based on applications received and the list of students made available by the CET Cell, colleges must prepare an official merit list. The merit list must be displayed on the college notice board as well as its official website. Once a candidate's institutional-level admission is confirmed, the college must immediately update the admission details on the CAP portal.
CET Cell warns students against admission agents
The CET Cell has also cautioned students and parents against individuals claiming to secure admissions through agents or intermediaries. Students have been advised not to fall for offers made before the completion of CAP rounds. The notice also warns candidates to be cautious about misleading information circulated through social media links, agents and private counsellors.
The CET Cell has advised students and parents to rely only on information published on the official CET Cell website or the official website of the concerned college and not on rumours or unauthorised sources. The guidelines have been issued to ensure transparency, merit-based admissions and adherence to the prescribed admission rules during the institutional-level admission process.
