Jhansi: In the Garhiya Phatak neighbourhood of Jhansi, a 23-year-old law student committed suicide late on Wednesday night after allegedly being duped and mistreated by a dentist with whom she was in a relationship. The victim's family is furious about the incident and is pursuing justice after the police allegedly failed to act, as per Dainik Bhaskar reports.
The deceased, who is identified as Danish Ara, daughter of Mohammad Yameen, pursuing an LLB degree. Her father claims that Danish first came across the dentist about five months ago when she went to his office to take care of a dental problem. The doctor allegedly promised to marry her, and what started as a routine visit quickly turned into a close relationship.
But when Danish found out that the doctor got engaged to another woman at a hotel on April 2, 2025, things tragically took an unexpected turn for the worse. According to her father, the doctor himself broke the news to her, leaving her devastated.
Under the guise of speaking with Danish's parents about the situation, the doctor invited him to his home on April 9. Mohammad Yameen was summoned to the house by the doctor's father later that day. Yameen claims that when he arrived, he witnessed the doctor's family holding Danish and trying to give her an injection against her will. When he brought his daughter home right away, she informed him that the doctor and his family had physically abused her.
