A 12-year-old Class VII student tragically died by suicide in his hostel room at a residential school in Hayathnagar in the early hours of Tuesday. The boy, upset over an issue, took the extreme step in the absence of his roommate.
Reported by Telangana Today, his friends grew concerned when they received no response after knocking on his door repeatedly. They informed the hostel authorities, who forcefully opened the door and found the boy dead.
The Hayathnagar police arrived at the scene and shifted the body for an autopsy. The investigation is ongoing.
In a similar incident, a 17-year-old female student at the Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT) in Nirmal district of Telangana allegedly died by suicide on Monday. Preliminary investigations suggest that the girl may have taken her life due to "family issues."
However, her family has raised concerns over the circumstances of her death and has accused the hostel staff of being responsible for the incident. Police are currently investigating the case.
Both cases highlight the ongoing issue of student suicides and are under investigation by local authorities.
