CBSE Syllabus 2025-26 Out: Check What’s New For Class 10 And 12 Students
CBSE has released the syllabus for Class 10 and Class 12 for the 2025-26 academic year, introducing significant changes. Class 10 students will now have the option to appear for two board exams annually, in February and April, while Class 12 exams will remain annual. CBSE Syllabus 2025-26: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the syllabus for Class 10 and Class 12 for the 2025-26 session, detailing academic content, learning outcomes, and a definite roadmap for the 2026 board exams. In a major change, students of Class 10 will now be able to appear for two board exams every year one in February and another in April from the 2025-26 session. CBSE Class 10 Syllabus 2025: Major Points
Grading System: The exams will have a 9-point grading system for the marks to grades conversion.
Board Exam: The board exam will be held for 80 marks in every subject.
Internal Assessment: Compulsory internal assessment will have 20 marks for every subject.
Passing Criteria: Students must score at least 33% in every subject to pass.
Skill Subjects: Students are given the option of taking one out of three skill subjects:
- Computer Application (Code 165)
- Information Technology (Code 402)
- Artificial Intelligence (Code 417)
Language: Student needs to pick English or Hindi as one language in Class 9 or Class 10.
Failure in Core Subjects: If a student fails in core subjects (Science, Mathematics, Social Science, or a language), but passes a skill or optional language subject, the failed subject will be replaced by the qualified skill or language subject in the result calculation.

CBSE Class 12 Syllabus 2025: Major Points
Grading System: The Class 12 board examination will be conducted on the 9-point grading system.
New Skill Electives: Four new skill electives have been added:
- Land Transportation Associate
- Electronics and Hardware
- Physical Activity Trainer
- Design Thinking and Innovation
Subject Selection: Students can opt for only one subject each in Informatics Practices (Code 065), Computer Science (Code 083), and Information Technology (Code 802).
Learning Areas: Seven main learning areas are included in the Class 12 syllabus:
- Languages
- Humanities
- Mathematics
- Sciences
- Skill Subjects
- General Studies
- Health and Physical Education
