Western Railway commissions new skywalk between Bandra Terminus & Khar Road

Connects Bandra Terminus from North end of Home PF No.1 to suburban railway network at Khar South FOB

Western Railway has successfully undertaken various infrastructural upgradation and augmentation works for the convenience of passengers. In continuation to this, a new Skywalk has been commissioned connecting Bandra Terminus to suburban network at Khar Road station, for the convenience of passengers of outstation trains arriving & departing from Bandra Terminus.

According to Sumit Thakur - Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Rly, the new Skywalk of 4.4 m wide & 314 m long has been commissioned between Bandra Terminus & Khar Road on 1st July, 2022. With the commissioning of this skywalk, Bandra Terminus is now directly connected with Khar Road station of Mumbai suburban railway network. This new Skywalk will be of great convenience to outstation passengers. Now, passengers can reach any of the platforms of Bandra Terminus by deboarding at Khar Road station and taking the Khar South FOB, which in turn is connected to the Skywalk. The Skywalk connects all the FOBs of Bandra Terminus station. The total cost of the Skywalk is approx. Rs. 14 crore and has been constructed using 510 MT structural steel, 20 MT Reinforcement steel & 240 cum of concrete. With this, total seven FOBs & Skywalks have been commissioned in the Mumbai suburban section of Western Railway in the financial year 2022 - 23.
