Mumbai: To celebrate India’s 79th Independence Day, Air India Express has rolled out a special “Freedom Sale”. The airline is offering nearly 50 lakh seats at heavily discounted rates. This includes domestic fares starting from Rs 1,279 and international fares from Rs 4,279.
Booking and Travel Period
Bookings are open until August 15. The travel period covers August 19, 2024, to March 31, 2026—a wide window that includes major Indian festivals like Onam, Durga Puja, Deepawali, and Christmas.

Where to Book
The offer first goes live on August 10 on the official website (www.airindiaexpress.com) and the airline’s mobile app. From August 11 to 15, it will also be available on all major travel booking platforms.

Air India Express is providing choices to suit every traveller’s needs:
Xpress Lite: Lowest fare with no check-in baggage. Domestic fares start at Rs 1,279; international from Rs 4,279.
Xpress Value: Includes standard check-in baggage. Domestic fares start at Rs 1,379; international from Rs 4,479.
Xpress Biz: Business-class style seating with up to 58 inches seat pitch, available on more than 40 new aircraft.
Rapid Growth and Network
The airline currently operates with a fleet of 116 aircraft, running over 500 daily flights. It connects 38 domestic and 17 international destinations. The expansion plan is part of Air India Express’s push to improve connectivity and comfort for passengers.
