VIDEO: Baby Monkey Travels 180 km From Agra To Dabra On Roof Of Chhattisgarh Express

Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A baby monkey, who climbed atop the Bilaspur-bound Chhattisgarh Express, travelled nearly 180 km on the roof of the train before being rescued in Madhya Pradesh's Dabra. A video of the same has surfaced on social media and is doing the rounds.

According to eyewitnesses, the baby monkey was seen jumping on the train when it passed through Raja Ki Mandi railway station in Agra. The monkey was eventually rescued after multiple attempts in Dabra. The baby primate had received an electric shock, making it difficult to spot.

According to information, the monkey was first seen energetically jumping around on the roof of the H-1 coach as the Chhattisgarh Express passed through Raja Ki Mandi in Agra. During its escapade, the monkey received an electric shock, injuring it and causing it to jump between the coach couplings. The control room was alerted, prompting the train to be halted at Agra Cantt, Dhaulpur, Muran, Banmor, Gwalior, and Dabera stations in an attempt to remove the animal.

At Gwalior Railway Station, a team from the forest department was called in. After approximately 10 minutes of searching, the monkey was not immediately found. Following the train’s departure, the monkey was spotted hiding between the couplings of the H-1 coach, leading to a renewed alert to the control room. Ultimately, the monkey was rescued at Dabera.

Animal's antics delay the train

The unexpected incident caused by the monkey led to a cumulative delay of approximately 30 minutes in the train's journey. Repeatedly stopping at six different stations to attempt the animal’s removal had a ripple effect on the schedule. As a result, the train reached Agra Cantt 1 hour and 8 minutes later than planned, and by the time it arrived at Gwalior, the delay had extended to 1 hour and 38 minutes.
