Using Abusive Language On Social Media Is Also Ragging: Says, Bhopal Psychologist Dr Kakoli Rai
Anti-ragging week begins at BMHRC

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Psychologist Dr. Kakoli Rai said that ragging is not limited to physical or direct harassment, but using abusive language or harassing on social media platforms like mobile messages, WhatsApp, and Facebook also comes under the category of ragging.
Ragging in any form has a deep impact on the mental state of the victim student, which can lead to insomnia, anxiety, depression, and even suicidal tendencies.

She said that if a student is being ragged, he should never keep quiet but should immediately inform his teachers, friends, well-wishers, or contact the anti-ragging helpline and anti-ragging committee.
Anti-ragging week is being organised at Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Centre (BMHRC) from August 12 to August 17. On the occasion of Anti-Ragging Day on August 12, an awareness programme was organised for the students of BMHRC.

BMHRC offers several high-level academic programs. The institute offers MD/MS or superspeciality courses in various departments including anaesthesia, cardiology, neurosurgery, urology, microbiology, and ophthalmology. Apart from this, BMHRC also has a nursing college and a paramedical college where future nurses and health workers are trained.
