Two Members Of Bhopal-Based Interstate Irani Gang Held In Delhi Following Encounter | Representative Image
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Two notorious members of Bhopal-based interstate Irani gang were arrested by Delhi police following an encounter on Saturday night.
The duo received bullet injuries in cross firing with police team and was admitted to the hospital for treatment. The arrested duo was identified as Murtaza Ali and Siraj Ali, residents of Aman Colony in Karond area.
Additional DCP Delhi (South) Aishwarya Sharma said the miscreants were cornered near Meerut Expressway and were asked to surrender but they opened fire on police team. They received bullet injuries in retaliatory firing by cops.
They informed police that they came to Delhi from Bhopal with other members of the gang to commit thefts and other heinous crimes. The accused have 46 cases of loot, robbery and theft registered against them in Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and other states. Murtaza was released from jail a year ago and was at large. Police seized two pistols and six live cartridges from their possession, Additional DCP added.
Meanwhile, police officials in Bhopal said that Siraj Ali sold perfumes, belts outside Bhopal railway station. Earlier, the duo lived at Irani Dera under Hanumanganj police station but later shifted to Karond. Further investigations are underway, officials added.
