Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): With Janmashtami just days away, huge crowds of devotees heading to Mathura, are filling up railway stations in Madhya Pradesh.
Almost all trains from Bhopal to Mathura are completely booked well in advance, leaving travelers struggling to find a seat.
Meanwhile, Bhopal Division PRO Naval Agrawal said there are enough trains on the route, but the situation is being monitored and steps will be taken if necessary.
Railway sources said that of the 14 trains running between Bhopal and Mathura, 11 are in “regret” status, meaning not even a waiting list ticket can be booked.
The remaining 3 trains have long waiting lists, with sleeper and third AC waitlists crossing 40–50 in some cases. Popular trains like the Jhelum Express, Chhattisgarh Express, Sachkhand Express, Andaman Express, and Grand Trunk Express have no seats left at all. Even “tatkal” bookings are failing, adding to passengers’ frustration.
