Shivpuri Woman, Two Sons Die After Snake Bite While Sleeping In Rajasthan; Family Spends 5 Hours On Traditional Healing

Shivpuri (Madhya Pradesh): A woman and her two sons died after being bitten by a common krait snake while sleeping at her maternal home in Rajasthan on Wednesday.

The woman was from Shivpuri, had gone to her maternal home in Rajasthan a few days ago, died along with her two sons after being bitten by a common krait snake while sleeping on Wednesday.

The family lost nearly five hours trying traditional healing before reaching the hospital.

According to information, the woman, Pinky, wife of Brajesh from Shivpuri district in Madhya Pradesh, had gone to her maternal home in Baran with her son Prince and daughter Neha to celebrate Raksha Bandhan.

Around 5 a.m., the snake bit all three while they were asleep. Family members noticed foam coming from their mouths and that they were struggling to breathe. The snake was later killed by the family with sticks.

Instead of taking them to a hospital immediately, the family took them to a local faith healer in Sirsaud village for traditional rituals. Nearly five hours later, when their condition worsened, they were taken to the Kelwara Community Health Centre, where doctors declared them dead.

Pinky was the daughter-in-law of the Chandel family from Akoda village in Shivpuri’s Rannod police station area. However, her maternal family refused to believe she had died.

They took the bodies from Rajasthan to different villages in Madhya Pradesh for further rituals and traditional healing before finally reaching the Badarwas Community Health Centre in Shivpuri in the evening, where doctors again confirmed their deaths.
