Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): The lawyer of ex-RTO constable Saurabh Sharma in the Transport Department, Rakesh Parashar, has filed a petition in the Bhopal Court expressing concerns over Sharma’s safety, as reported on Friday.
Parashar has warned that his client could face a life-threatening attack, and might get killed, similar to the high-profile murder of Uttar Pradesh's Atiq Ahmed.
The petition highlights negligence in ensuring Saurabh Sharma's security despite specific court orders.
According to Parashar, the court had instructed the Lokayukta Police to take strong measures for Sharma’s protection while he was in their custody. However, during his transport from Kohefiza Police Station to the Lokayukta Office, Sharma was reportedly taken in an open vehicle, with all officers accompanying in civilian clothing.
Next hearing on February 4
Parashar claims that such negligence can make Sharma vulnerable to attacks, and the possibility of his murder cannot be ruled out. The petition demands accountability and asserts that if Sharma faces any harm, charges of murder and conspiracy should be filed against the responsible officers.
The Bhopal Court has accepted the petition and scheduled the hearing for February 4. It is expected that the court will take strict action against the officials for their negligence after reviewing the case.
