Sandipani Schools To Make Every Home Gokul, Every Child Gopal: CM Mohan Yadav; Celebrates Janmashtami With Over 1,000 Children |
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Saturday said that the government is committed to nurturing cultural values and spiritual education through establishment of Sandipani schools across Madhya Pradesh.
“The aim is to make every home a Gokul, every child a Gopal Krishna, deeply rooted in values, learning from the life ideals of Lord Ram and the teachings of Lord Krishna,” he said.
The CM was addressing the gathering during Sri Krishna Janmotsav Parv, Haldhar Mahotsav and Liladhar Prakatotsav, celebrated at his residence in Bhopal. Over 1,000 children participated in the vibrant festivities.
Speaking on the essence of Lord Krishna's life, Yadav said, “He laid the foundation of democracy by overthrowing Kansa. As a child, Krishna’s mischief of breaking butter pots was not mere play, it was an organised act of rebellion with a message.”
He emphasised the government's focus on reviving cultural traditions and promoting spiritual teachings. He also highlighted schemes like Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana, launched to protect cows and increase farmers' income through dairy farming.
As part of the celebration, Jalabhishek was performed by the Chief Minister, accompanied by ISKCON priests chanting Vedic mantras.
Janmashtami was celebrated with religious fervour at various temples in Bhopal, including the Birla Mandir, drawing large crowds of devotees who gathered for midnight aarti, bhajans and Krishna Leela performances.
