Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Bageshwar Dham's Pandit Dhirendra Shastri has slammed SP MLA Abu Aizm's controversial comments allegedly 'glorifying' Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb on Thursday.
He said it is a misfortune that rowdy invaders like Aurangzeb are still glorified in a country that has given birth to great warriors like Chhatrapati Shivaji, Chhatrapati Sambhaji, Maharana Pratap, and Rani Lakshmi Bai.
"The time is changing, and soon, the flag of Sanatan will be raised high once again," Shastri expressed his firm belief that India will ultimately become a Hindu nation.
Shastri is on a five-day Bihar tour starting Thursday. The tour kicked off from Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh as he headed towards Gopalganj, where he spoke to the media.

What was the controversy?
The controversy erupts from a statement given by a Samajwadi Party MP Abu Azmi during the first day of Maharashtra assembly's budget session. Azmi allegedly stated that Aurangzeb was a great administrator. He claimed that during Aurangzeb's time, India's GDP was 24 per cent and India was called 'Sone Ki Chidiya'.
