MP's Mega Dog Rescue: Puppy Falls In Open Borewell In Morena; Excavator Machines Roped In, 15-Foot Pit Dug

Morena (Madhya Pradesh): A mega rescue of a puppy that fell down in an open borewell in Madhya Pradesh's Morena is underway. It was reported that the pup accidentally fell inside the deep pit while playing on fields on Wednesday late evening. It is said to be stuck at 30 feet deep.
When a youth heard the barking noise of a struggling puppy, he went near and found that it was trapped inside the open borewell pit. He raised an alarm, and more people reached the spot and sought help from the district administration and police.
The district administration and police reached the spot immediately after receiving the information. Bulldozers and excavator machines were roped in. A 15-foot-deep pit was dug overnight to reach the little dog.
Animal lovers gathered at the spot in large numbers as the operation to rescue their pawfriend was in full swing. Further details are awaited.
Rs 10k penalty?
This is the first time when a massive operation has been undertaken to rescue a dog from an open borewell in Madhya Pradesh. Though several incidents where children accidentally fell in the open borewell have been reported.
The state government in the Monsoon Session passed the bill which provisioned a penalty of Rs 10,000 and criminal cases under BNS sections if a borewell was left open.
