Guna (Madhya Pradesh): A fire broke out in a tower constructed atop a residential house in Madhya Pradesh's Guna on Friday. The blaze completely gutted the room housing the tower’s batteries and electrical equipment.
According to reports, the fire broke out in a residential house located in the 'Medical Bagicha' area of Shriram Colony.
Mobile tower over school
According to reports, the building in question belongs to Prabal Sharma. The BSNL company had installed a mobile tower on the premises quite some time ago. The tower itself is mounted on the building's rooftop. Located right next to it on the roof is the tower's operational room, which houses essential equipment such as batteries, inverters, and other operational components.
Suddenly, a fire erupted inside the tower room. Flames could be seen leaping several feet into the air.
Blaze brought under control
Residents of the colony immediately alerted the fire brigade. Upon receiving the information, two fire tenders from the municipality rushed to the scene. After battling the blaze for approximately one hour, the fire was brought under control. It is suspected that a short circuit was the cause of the fire in the tower.
School Holiday Saves Hundreds
The CS Convent School operates within this same building. The school has an enrollment of approximately 500 students and employs a teaching and support staff of around 20 individuals.
It was fortunate that today was the Good Friday holiday, resulting in the school remaining closed; otherwise, a major disaster could have ensued.
