MP Love Jihad: Muslim Youth Arrested For Raping Minor Hindu Girl In Bhopal; Forced Her For Marriage & Religious Conversion

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Amid ongoing cases of rape and blackmail involving Hindu girls, a fresh ‘love jihad’ incident has surfaced in the Gunga area of rural Bhopal. A youth from a different community allegedly lured and raped a minor Hindu girl, and is now pressuring her for marriage. The accused was arrested on Thursday and is being questioned by police.

According to reports, the girl, aged 17 years and 6 months, lives in a village under Gunga police station. Sahil Khan, 22, a resident of the same area who also works in agricultural fields with his father, is accused of befriending the girl through false pretences. About a month ago, Sahil raped her when she was alone.

Recently, Sahil started pressuring the minor for marriage and religious conversion, prompting her to inform her parents. The girl and her family approached Gunga police along with activists from a right-wing group and lodged a complaint on Wednesday night.

Gunga police station TI Harishankar Verma said that an FIR has been registered against Sahil under POCSO, SC/ST and other relevant sections of BNS. The accused has been arrested and is under interrogation.
