Seoni (Madhya Pradesh): The Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) conducted yet another raid in Madhya Pradesh, at the official residence of Seoni Municipal Council’s Chief Municipal Officer (CMO) in-charge Disha Deharia, on Thursday.
The action was taken after the complaints of her possessing assets disproportionate to her income. Deharia is currently under interrogation by the authorities.
According to information, the EOW team arrived at her residence around 9:30 am. After initial proceedings, she was briefly taken to the municipal council office and later escorted to Chhindwara for further questioning.
The details about the documents and assets that were seized during the raid are yet to be disclosed. The EOW is conducting further investigation to discover whether other people are involved in the matter.
Investigation still on
Disha Deharia has previously served as CMO in the Chand and Harrai municipal councils of Chhindwara district. Currently, she holds additional charge of the Waraseoni Municipal Council in Balaghat district alongside her duties in the Seoni Municipal Council.
According to EOW DSP AB Singh, a case has been registered against Deharia under charges of possessing disproportionate assets. The complaint lodged against her led to the search operation.
