Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A three-day service meet of IAS officers from Friday may weigh heavy on a campaign of Central Government. The Central Government has directed the state to launch a campaign, ‘Prashasan Gaon Ki Aur’, from Thursday (December 19) to December 24.
But all the IAS officers will be in the state capital during this period to take part in the service meet. The General Administration Department (GAD) has also issued two types of directives. In one order, the department has asked the officers to launch ‘Prashasan Gaon Ki Aur’ campaign to work out people’s problems.

It also directed the collectors to prepare for the campaign. During the campaign, the officers have to monitor the number of problems solved at various camps, the complaints lodged on CM Helpline and portal, and the number of issues resolved under public service guarantee.
The personnel department has also written to the Chief Secretary about this campaign. The officers began to arrive at Bhopal to attend the service meet from Thursday evening. Divisional commissioners and collectors, with their family members, reached Bhopal.
But the collectors are not supposed to leave districts when the assembly session is on. Along with the Centre’s instructions, the GAD also issued another order permitting the divisional commissioners, collectors and chief executive officers of district Pachayats to stay in Bhopal to take part in the three-day service meet, leaving their respective district headquarters.
In the order, they were told only to monitor the law and order situation. Nevertheless, the Centre’s order does not speak about any such permission. Against this backdrop, the ‘Prashasan Gaon Ki Aur’ is set to suffer a setback.
