Panna (Madhya Pradesh): A major accident has been reported in a JK Cement Plant located in Panna district of Madhya Pradesh.
The plant was under construction and roof slabs were being laid at the site. At the time of the accident, hundreds of workers were deployed at the plant. At the same time a scaffolding fell all of a sudden, trapping many workers.
Initially, there were reports of the death of two workers, later the death toll increased to 5. Additionally, about 30 workers are reported to be injured.
The death toll is feared to increase and the matter has caused panic at the site.
Three hours have passed since accident, however, no official information has been issued by the administration and management yet. The main gate of the plant has been closed, with just administration, workers and the SDRF team inside.
Panna SP Sai Krishna S Thota said, the police force and the SDRF team are working for relief and rescue work. The exact number of dead and injured has not been confirmed yet.
