MP: Bhopal Vigyan Mela To Begin From December 27; Form Committee To Promote Millet Production, Says Chief Minister Mohan Yadav

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology (MPCST) under the joint aegis of Vigyan Bharati Madhya Bharat Prant is going to organise a four-day ‘11th Bhopal Vigyan Mela’ at Jamboori Maidan in the city from December 27-30.
Director General of MPCST Anil Kothari told media persons on Sunday that the central theme of the science fair is ‘Developed India 2047, the Foundation: Science, Technology and Innovation’. Major attractions include current advancements in science and technology, rural technology, student-scientist interaction, inaugural session and cultural programmes, etc.
It will also have pavillions based on various themes like Creative Learning Centre, Technology Exhibition, Handicraft, Medicinal Plants, Agri-Technology, Pavillion on Biography of Eminent Scientists and on various government schemes, etc.
Various national and state-level organisations/institutions like DAE, ISRO, DRDO, Brahmos, NTPC, NHDC, CIL, CSIR Laboratories and Agricultural Councils have been invited to showcase their successful work and innovations.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Chief minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday asked officials to form committee of agriculture specialists and departmental officials to promote millet production. He asked them to include agriculture representatives too in the committee.
Reviewing agriculture department’s schemes at CM house, Yadav said promoting millet cultivation would improve socio-economic status of farmers and make agriculture a profitable business. He also added that farmers should be encouraged for production of oil seeds and pulses.
In this regard, farmers will be guided for using new techniques, upgraded seeds, suitable fertiliser and pesticide. The meeting was attended by chief secretary Anurag Jain, additional chief secretary Dr Rajesh Rajora.
