Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A man from Madhya Pradesh’s Dewas district was sentenced to 10 years in jail for raping a woman after secretly filming her while she was bathing.
According to information, the incident took place in the Industrial Area police station limits of the city in 2022.
It is said that the accused resided near the woman’s room. He recorded videos and photos of her through a ventilator while she was bathing. He then used those videos to blackmail her and raped her several times in November 2022.

Later, the victim filed a complaint on December 6, 2022. Based on the complaint, police arrested Rohit the next day.
After the investigation, a charge sheet was filed in January 2023. During the trial, 8 witnesses were presented before the Sessions Court.
During the proceedings, the victim could not appear in court as she had shifted from her former residence.
Later, a special team was formed to trace the woman's new address and present her in court.

Police successfully located the victim and recorded her statement in court. Based on the evidence and witness testimonies, the court found Rohit Malviya guilty and sentenced him to 10 years of imprisonment along with a fine of ₹9,000.
