Ex-minister's misfortune

A former minister of the state remains out of Lady Luck's favour these days. After his defeat in the Vidhan Sabha elections, his efforts to return to mainstream politics have fallen through. A leader of the BJP tried to accommodate him in the party's national team, but he failed. The politician also had the former minister's name recommended through the party's state organisation. His efforts, however, remained unsuccessful. The former minister's name made a lot of buzz during the Rajya Sabha elections, too, but success eluded him. His name also came up during the discussion over appointment to the post of state president. Then a few leaders supported the former minister. But the party refused the proposal. So, because of constant failures, the former minister remains confused. He does not know how to react to it. The former minister has experience of working for the government as well as for the party. Everyone appreciates his political acumen. Yet, the central leaders lack interest in accommodating him to the organisation.

Expectations high

The hopes of a politician running for the post of the chairman of the Bhopal Development Authority (BDA) have rekindled. The BJP's national team has given an important task to a politician in the state. The leader from the state capital, vying for the post of the BDA, stays close to the powerful politician who has joined the national team. Since the senior politician has received an important position in the party, the leader, vying for the post of the BDA's chairman, remains hopeful of getting an assignment in the state. He has been trying to become the chairman of BDA for several days, and the party almost selected him. But because a minister opposed it, they could not announce his name. Afterwards, he remained in the grip of frustration, thinking he would not get any place in the party. Now, after his confidant has joined the national team, he has swung into action. Yet, several politicians in the state capital remain averse to giving him the position he vies for.

Many suitors

The BJP has elevated a politician heading the party's state media cell. Now, he has begun to work for it. So, the politician vying for the position has begun to use his confidant's clout. Some other leaders have also swung into action to lay their hands on the position. The party's state unit president and the head of state will decide the case. In this situation, a few leaders try to secure the post through the head of state. Some leaders have begun to backbite against one another to the party bosses because of the competition for the post. They have even started digging up cases against each other to achieve their goal.

CM in-waiting?

Someone told a female politician of the ruling party that her name remained at the forefront for the post of chief minister after the 2023 assembly elections. But for some reason, she could not become the CM. She has begun to think since then that she can become the CM. Amid the political turmoil, Madam thinks she can hit the mark in the future. People in the corridors of power say she has begun to work for it and met a powerful politician, expressing her desire for it. She makes all efforts to get recognition as the chief ministerial face. She also performs religious rituals to achieve the goal. The woman politician has a special quality: whenever she meets a senior leader, she appreciates him so much on his face that he feels embarrassed.

Ex-MLA goes down well

The political career of a woman, a former legislator of the ruling party, may have faded into oblivion, but her ability to swim still keeps her in focus. She recently visited her hometown. A water-filled well on her way unlocked her childhood memories. She could barely control herself from swimming in the water body. As she jumped into it, her followers stood awestruck. She easily swam like a swan and came out of it. Once, she won an assembly election on the ruling party ticket. But as the party had denied a ticket in the previous assembly elections, she quit the organisation and contested the polls from another party though unsuccessfully. As her political career has faded into the background, she remains busy in sports.

Focus on rural areas

A BJP leader, working in the state capital, has started shifting his focus to rural areas these days. He yearns to contest the next assembly elections from a rural segment. So, he has begun to contact the people there. He handles an important assignment in the state capital. But it lacks a seat from which he can contest the elections. So, he has started stretching his wings in the sticks. Yet, a hurdle awaits him. A senior leader who he stands close to no longer enjoys the same kind of clout as he once did in the party. These days, another leader controls the party. So, everything depends on how his mentor helps the politician, trying to seek a ticket from a rural segment. A clear picture will, however, emerge after two years when the civic body goes to polls. His way of working has stirred up a conflict between him and the lawmaker from the constituency, which he aspires to lay his hands on.
