Madhya Pradesh Ex-Speaker Ready To Quit House After 75, Agrees With RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat
According to Sharma, after a period of time, the youth should be given a chance.

Bhopal ( Madhya Pradesh): RSS head Mohan Bhagwat's statement over retirement after 75 has heated up the political atmosphere in the state.
Reacting to Bhagwat's re-mark, former Speaker of the MP House and present legislator Dr Sitasaran Sharma has said he agrees with what the RSS chief said.
According to Sharma, after a period of time, the youth should be given a chance.
He will turn 75 next year, Sharma said, adding that if he is asked to step down as an MLA, he will happily do so.
Time is changing, and, after some time, others should be given a chance, he said.
On the other hand, former MP Raghunandan Sharma is not in favour of age being the criterion to remain in politics.
Seventy-nine-year-old Sharma said he wanted to work, but the party asked him to retire. The criteria should not be fixed according to the choice of any person, Sharma said, adding one should not try to achieve power by fair means or foul.
Nevertheless, the Congress is relating Bhagwat's statement to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Leader of the Opposition, Umang Singhar, wanted to know whether Modi would accept Bhagwat's statement
Criteria changed several times
The BJP has changed the criteria of retirement after 75 several times. The resignation of Sartaj Singh and Babulal Gaur was sought on the ground that both crossed 75 years. But the BJP gives tickets to those who have crossed 75 to win an election. In the last assembly election, the party gave tickets to four leaders who crossed 75, violating the rule.
