Madhya Pradesh Budget 2026 Highlights: No New Tax, ₹23K Crore For Ladli Behna Yojana; Fiscal Deficit @ 3.87%
Madhya Pradesh Finance Minister Jagdish Devda presented a budget of Rs 4.38 Lakh Crore in the state assembly on Wednesday, amid opposition uproar. No new tax has been levied. Rs 23,700 crore has been allocated to the Health sector. This is almost an equivalent amount provisioned under BJP flagship scheme Ladli Behna Yojana.

Rs 4.38 Lakh Crore Budget presented
* Total appropriation amount Rs 4,38,317 crore.
* Revenue Surplus of Rs 44.22 crore estimated.
* Fiscal Deficit @ 3.87 of GSDP%.
* For scheduled tribe ( Sub Scheme) Rs 47,429 crore.
* For Schedule Caste ( Sub scheme) Rs 31,192 crore.
* The Gross State Domestic Product is estimated at Rs 18,48,278 cr. This represents a 10.69 % increase over the Revised estimate of 2025-26.
* No new tax will levied, announces FM Devda.
'Debt-ridden,' LoP questions FM's tall promises
LoP Umang Singhar interrupted Minister Jagdish Devda in mid speech, asking, "Jab pradesh ghate mein hai, toh sarkar itni saugat kaha se degi." (How will government fulfil its tall promises when the state is debt-ridden?)
* Over Rs 13k crore allotted for Simastha-2028 in Ujjain
* ₹6,151 crore allocated for forest and environment
* Five IT Parks will be developed. 19300 acres land allocated for IT-Industrial parks.
* 472 e-buses launched in Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Sagar and Ujjain

Tourist footfall rising in Madhya Pradesh. Chausath Yogini, Bhojpur, Bhedaghat, Maheshwar & Khajuraho among top attractions.
Madhya Pradesh Tourism, MP Film Tourism policies being developed.

* Housing & development
Rs 10,428 crore Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY)
Rs 400 crore for Swachh Bharat Mission
40,062 crore for rural and panchayat development
* Rs 21k crore allotted for urban development
* Expansion of medical infra
Hiring on for 3850 vacant posts for doctors and over 1K + nurses
Over Rs 23,700 crore for expansion of health facilities across Madhya Pradesh.
* Projects worth Rs 8.63 lakh crore started
Business & Commercial projects worth Rs 8.63 lakh crore have begun following investment proposals received via various Regional Industrial Conclaves held across state.
* Rs 4454 crore for Jal Jeevan
An amount of Rs 4454 crore has been allocated under Jal Jeevan Yojana.
*Rs 12,690 crore for road development
Rs 12,690 crore for road repair & development. Target to complete 7 lakh kilometer road across state.
111 ROBs developed, flyover connecting Gayatri Temple to Ganesh Mandir in MP Nagar.
* Rs 23,800 crore for Ladli Behna Yojana
Ladli Lakshmi Yojana 2.0 gets provision of Rs 1801 crore.
The state government allocated over Rs 23,800 crore for Ladli Behna Yojana. 1.25 crore women will be benefitted.
* Rs 815 crore for Sports Development
Smart classrooms being developed in engineering colleges.
Allocated Rs 815 crore to encourage sports development.
* Education
To promote quality education for free, 799 PM schools and 200+ Sandipani schools are being operated, says FM Devda.
These schools will be upgraded to CBSE-level.
* Social Welfare schemes
Rs 2857 crore allocated for social welfare schemes, which includes-- Divyang welfare, Bharan Poshan Yojana, Kanya Vivah Yojana and others.
* Animal welfare
Rs 2364 crore allocated for animal welfare (Pashu Kalyan Yojana)
Rs 412 crore for fishery development
* Crop Insurance
Allocated Rs 5500 crore under CM Krishi Unnati scheme, Rs 1299 crore under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.
Using smart options to improve yield. AGRI-GIS will create integrated database for agriculture. This will facilitate data-based decision to improve and streamline crop production.
* Solar pumps
Target to provide 1 lakh solar pumps to farmers for irrigation purpose so to reduce their dependence on electricity, which will consequently free them from hefty power bills, says minister Devda.
An amount of Rs 3k crore has been allocated.

"We have announced 2026 as Kisan Kalyan Yojana, and our government will work towards it, says Minister Devda, even as opposition Congress raises slogans and labels govt as "anti-farmer".
