Madhya Pradesh: 3 Girls Drown In Illegal Mining Pit In Satna

Satna (Madhya Pradesh): A shocking tragedy occurred in Richul village were three young girls from the same family died after slipping into an illegally built mining pit filled with water, the incident happened under the jurisdiction of Jaso police station.

According to the police reports, the girls were playing near the site when they accidentally fell into the deep pit. Rainwater had filled the hole, which had been formed as a result of illicit mining by a local contractor. Because of the depth, the girls drowned before villagers could save them.

Despite rapid efforts by locals, all three were certified dead by the time they were extracted. After receiving the information, Jaso police arrived on the site and opened a case.

The bodies have been sent to the mortuary for postmortem. This sad incident has once again highlighted the risks of illegal mining in Satna district.

In certain regions, mining mafias continue to operate unregulated, digging deep trenches and leaving them uncovered, which eventually become fatal traps when filled with water.

The locals, devastated by the loss, have expressed their outrage and demanded rigorous punishment for those guilty. They have encouraged the authorities to crack down on unlawful mining operations to avoid such disasters in the future.
