Let Roads Flood, Let People Wait — Bhopal Nagar Nigam Has Plants To Water; Viral Video Shows Employee Watering Plants In Rain
In the viral video, a Nagar Nigam worker can be seen wearing a raincoat and using a water pipe, or what some users claimed was a suction machine.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): From flooded roads to stranded citizens, from overflowing drains to roaming stray animals — Bhopal city is in chaos. Heavy rain has exposed the capital’s poor civic management.
But amid all this, a video on social media platform X has shown us what truly matters to Bhopal Nagar Nigam — watering the plants. Yes, even in the rain.
In the viral video, a Nagar Nigam worker can be seen wearing a raincoat and using a water pipe, or what some users claimed was a suction machine.
The sarcastic caption reads:
“The rain tried to put sarkari kaam me baadha, but still couldn’t stop Bhopal Nagar Nigam from watering the plants right on schedule. Duty is duty.”
Because when it’s on the duty chart, rain is just an extra challenge, not a reason to stop.
While the joke spread online, the ground reality isn’t funny.
- Mandakini Colony (Kolar Road) was flooded.
- Villages nearby are reporting blocked roads.
- Stray animals are seen roaming in knee-deep water. Citizens are stuck, but yes — the plants are safe and sound!
But Nagar Nigam is nowhere to be seen there. No workers, no suction machines, no emergency teams.
Only one thing seems to be working perfectly, the watering schedule for plants. Even the sky can’t stop that!
Why isn’t this same 'duty' spirit shown on flooded roads?
Why doesn’t the Nagar Nigam team reach where people are stuck, drains are blocked, and roads like Aishbagh bridge are turning into danger zones?
When the city cries for help, the system goes missing. But when it comes to watering plants in the rain, now that’s top priority.
