Lawyers Team Up & Thrash Bhim Army Over Installation Of Ambedkar Statue At Gwalior Bench Of MPHC

Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A dispute over the proposed installation of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's statue near the Gwalior Bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court has spiraled into a full-blown confrontation, resulting in violence between groups of lawyers and members of the Bhim Army.

The incident, which unfolded just outside the High Court premises in the city center, has triggered concerns of rising tension in the region.

According to eyewitnesses, the situation escalated on Friday afternoon when Bhim Army leader Rupesh Kane, accompanied by several associates, arrived near the court premises following a recent warning issued by a section of the legal fraternity.

Two days ago, some lawyers had warned the Bhim Army not to interfere, saying the court is not a protest site. In response, Bhim Army leader Rupesh Kane arrived outside the court with his supporters.

Police were already present in large numbers, but as soon as lawyers saw the Bhim Army members, things got out of control. Despite police trying to stop them, some lawyers attacked Rupesh Kane and his team.

The police tried to remove the Bhim Army members from the area. But when they shouted "Jai Bhim," the lawyers again surrounded them, and a fight broke out. The road outside the court, normally peaceful and known as a VIP area, turned into a scene of chaos.

Police quickly took control and removed the Bhim Army group. The situation is now under control, but tension remains high around the High Court.

The local police and administration have not yet made a full public statement. Extra police forces have been deployed near the court to prevent any further violence.
