Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Election officer for the BJP national council and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced the unanimous election of Hemant Khandelwal as BJP state president during a programme held at the party office here on Wednesday.
Khandelwal will work in a coordinated manner to strengthen the party organization, said Pradhan, addressing party leaders and workers who had come from across the state to witness the transfer of the power baton to Khandelwal by outgoing state president VD Sharma.
Sharma appealed to party workers to take a pledge to support CM Mohan Yadav and the new state president Khandelwal in taking the state forward.

Later, talking to media persons, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that the BJP moves ahead with the aim of creating an army of nationalists. The manner in which the BJP is winning elections in the state is a victory for common party workers, said Yadav, adding that pivotal posts come only after winning elections.
The Chief Minister said that he sympathises with the Congress, as its organizational election is witnessing a slugfest. He advised Congress to learn from the BJP how to conduct organizational elections.
