Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Another FIR has been lodged against Trinamool MP Mahua Moitra by Bengali society at the Ranjhi police station, for objectionable remarks on Maa Kali.

A case was registered against the fiery MP under section 295A of IPC for hurting religious sentiments.

Notably, an FIR was lodged against TMC West Bengal MP Mahua Moitra on Wednesday at Crime Branch Bhopal against alleged remarks against goddess Kali.

To add, the TMC MP had commented on a contentious poster that had depicted goddess Kali in a controversial manner.

CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan also condemned the MP's remarks. Taking to Twitter, the CM said, "No one's religion should be hurt. Kali Maa has been insulted. FIR has been lodged in MP, we won't tolerate any insult to Kaali Maa."

Earlier, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra had warned to impose a ban on the film 'Kaali' if the objectionable posters showing the Goddess smoking a cigarette are not removed.

Calling it an insult to Goddess Kaali, the minister also said that if posters were not removed, the government will lodge an FIR against the film's director.

"Maa Kaali's insult will not be tolerated, strict action will be taken. We will ask for the registration of an FIR. We will also ban the film in the state. Strict action will be taken if the posters are not removed," Mishra said.
