Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan Kicks Off With Kaliyasot River Cleanup

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The 'Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan' was launched on Sunday with a cleaning drive at Kaliyasot river, marking the beginning of a large-scale campaign for conservation and cleanliness of water bodies in the capital. The event saw participation from a significant number of administrative officials, public representatives and hundreds of local residents.

Among the key figures present were Mayor Malti Rai, Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) president Kishan Suryavanshi and Bhopal collector Kaushlendra Vikram Singh, along with various social workers and municipal employees.

Speaking at the event, Mayor Malti Rai said that the initiative goes beyond just cleaning water bodies—it is also a public awareness movement. "We must ensure that our ponds, wells and other water sources remain clean and protected," she said, urging people to play an active role in the campaign.

Bhopal collector Kaushlendra Vikram Singh said that the 'Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan,' launched under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, will continue for three months and will require coordinated efforts from all government departments. The event concluded with a collective cleanliness pledge, where all participants vowed to contribute towards preserving and maintaining the city's water bodies for the future.
