Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A woman was allegedly attacked by her husband with a sword in Gwalior over suspicions about her character on Saturday.
The victim, identified as Sapna Jadhav, was stabbed more than six times and is currently in critical condition at the trauma center of Jayarogya Hospital.
In the horrific assault, the sword got lodged in her leg and has not yet been removed. A panel of doctors is working to safely extract it.
The accused, Amit Jadhav, was taken into custody from the Helipad Colony near Roshnighar shortly after the incident. According to police and family members, Amit had ongoing disputes with Sapna and suspected her character, even though he himself had remarried three months ago in Chittorgarh.

Sapna’s brother said Amit had threatened the family just two days earlier, warning them not to let her work. Sapna, who was working to support her children's education, was attacked when Amit found her alone on Friday morning.
Police have arrested the accused and further investigation is underway.
