Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A case of murder was reported from Madhya Pradesh’s Vidisha district, in which a man allegedly killed his wife under the influence of alcohol. The incident came to light on Friday night after the man took his unconscious wife to hospital, the police said.
According to information, the matter pertains to the Civil Lines police station area in Vidisha and the victim has been identified as Sandhya Ahirwar.
Sandhya and Pramod Goswami tied the knot in 2020 after being in a relationship. Three years later, she gave birth to a daughter, who is 2-years-old at present.
Police said, on Friday night at around 11 pm, Pramod entered the house under the influence of alcohol and assaulted his wife brutally, as alleged by Sandhya’s father, Arjun Ahirwar.
Sandhya’s father also alleged there were multiple injury marks on her body, and she died due to the assault. Family members claimed that Sandhya had been facing harassment ever since her marriage, and frequent fights took place between the couple.
Accused under investigation
Police received the information from the medical college hospital where Pramod himself had brought Sandhya. Unfortunately, she was declared dead on arrival.
Regarding the matter, CSP Atul Singh said, a case of murder has been registered against Pramod Goswami.
Initial investigations suggest domestic disputes as the main reason for the crime.
However, police are investigating all possible angles. Pramod has been taken into custody, and further action is underway.
