Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh): Heavy rains are wreaking a havoc in Bundelkhand region. Swollen rivers are overflowing on roads. Several houses were submerged and villages turned into islands! Several locals stuck amid rising waters of the Singhari river near Karola village were rescued by boats. The incident took place on Friday after heavy rainfall caused the river to swell and flood the nearby areas.
A family was stuck on a small island formed in the middle of the river. The strong flow of river made it impossible for them to return on their own. When the matter reached the district administration, Collector immediately gave instructions to carry out a rescue operation.

Considering the seriousness of the matter, SDERF team rushed to the spot immediately and began the rescue operation of the family. Despite the strong flow of water, the team managed to bring all six people out safely.
The rescue was carried out under the supervision of Naugaon SDM GS Patel. Maharajpur Tehsildar and officers from Gadhimalhara police station were also present during the operation. The local administration ensured that the family was given proper care after being rescued.

Villagers and local leaders praised the quick response of the administration. Officials have once again appealed to the public to avoid going near rivers during heavy rain. The district team is on alert and monitoring flood-prone areas continuously.
